I’m baaaaaack

I don’t feel so much like death today, but I still sound funny. Kinda like a man. Monday, I was in bed all day after doing hot yoga, at my local studio. Tuesday, I attempted to go to work..but was sent home mid way thru because people didn’t want to catch the plague my sickness. I proceeded to be a bump on a log the rest of the day.

Today, I feel better! It was a scorching 92 degrees in North County. I know, it’s such a hard life to live..after work I decided to go to the beach! Not for a run, I don’t feel 100% yet, but for a walk.

Only the most exciting thing in my life for running right now!!! I know I have had a couple of off days because of being sick, but tomorrow after my work meeting, I am going for a run!!!! I guess you can say I was kinda excited.

Being sick blows..

I hate being sick. So excuse the no posts. I feel like death and have lived off of soup and water. I promise ill be back soon. On the plus side…seems as if eating soup one time as your only meal will cause you to lose 3 pounds! Only if it were that easy…

Following a shower, thank god! I got ready for lunch with Griselda, we decided on sushi for lunch. My favorite little place is Hon Sushi. I LOVE sushi, like L-O-V-E, and this place has fresh sushi PLUS as an added bonus, they have all you can eat sushi..which comes in handy when I’m starving craving sushi.

We had miso soup and some edamame to start..

Because I have a thing for salty food 🙂

After we felt like we just wanted to curl up there and go to sleep full, so we only decided that it was logical to pay a visit to….

alas, our day had to come to an end..I proceeded to come home, where I began sneezing…and sneezing…and sneezing! WTF. I think I am officially getting sick. Off to drink water, eat soup, and take many many vitamin c chewies!

My Long Run

Today was my long run, and I must say..it felt good!! After waking up at 6:30 am feeling groggy, I headed out around 7:30 am feeling pumped! I ate a Balance Bar (they are my fave) and grabbed water and headed out the door. Destination?? Only my favorite place to run ever! The beach!

I did some stretches, and headed off..After I completed this..

And only because I am the best best friend ever, I have called upon my bestie to share in my hell pain with me! She gladly obliged since we are on a weight loss journey together.

Garmin!

Today I purchased my next running investment! A Garmin Forerunner 305. I’m super excited because I have been using an app on my iPhone and I hate having such a big thing strapped to my arm..I’d rather have the watch.

Tomorrow I have my “long” run on the schedule. At my level, a “long” run is only 2 miles. Baby steps..
As far as my eating/drinking goes, I have officially given up diet coke! kill me now.
I want results, I want them now! I know that is ridiculous and need to give it time. I need to focus on my eating if I want the fastest results. Alright! Off to bed! See you later! 😉

My “rest” day.

Today was my scheduled rest day.. good thing too, my entire body is sore from BodyPump class yesterday. I could hardly get out of bed. I decided to start my day off with a yummy breakfast at my favorite little place, Swami’s.

I love the mural they have on the wall, the food isn’t bad either 🙂 I had the California Scramble (from their “specials” menu, but I had it with egg whites and NO toast), luckily my daughter was with me and shared it with me.

After finishing that, we headed out to Bates Nut Farm, which is in Valley Center, CA. Around the end of September they become a pumpkin patch, on the weekends it turns into a little carnival, with a straw maze, hayrides, many photo ops of course!!

I am not one usually for day napping, but that heat took a lot out of me! Time for a nap! See you later!

My new running plan.

I have only been running for about a month now. I am running about an 11 min/mile. I am signed up for 2 5k’s in November. This is the new plan I am following. I know that I can’t just run to be a successful runner, I can’t just run if I want to lose weight, it has to be a combo of things. Mondays will be my hot yoga days, Wednesdays will be hot yoga and a BodyPump class at my gym and friday will be Cycling. 🙂

–I copied this from Jeff Galloway’s website. I’ve heard that it is a great program, great way to avoid running injuries and I am on my first week. Stay tuned 😉
